How it works

Sent from your own WhatsApp Business account

When a shopper wins and opts in with a phone number, Profiter will send the prize and code through the Meta Cloud API, using your store's own WhatsApp Business account.

  • Messages send through the Meta Cloud API, from your own WhatsApp Business account
  • A phone number and explicit consent are required before any message goes out
  • The prize and code that show in the popup are the same ones sent on WhatsApp

Consent, by design

No pre-ticked boxes, ever

Consent is never pre-ticked anywhere in Profiter, and the WhatsApp opt-in is no exception. A shopper has to choose to share a number before a message can be sent.

Starts unchecked

The consent checkbox loads unticked, every time, for every shopper.

📱

Both are required

A shopper must supply a phone number and tick the box before WhatsApp follow-up is possible.

🚫

Nothing without it

Without a number and consent, no message sends — there's no separate list to opt out of later.

Why it's different

Your number, not a shared inbox

A generic broadcast tool sends from a number your customers have never seen, shared with every other merchant using the same service. A message from your own WhatsApp Business account carries your store's name, and a winner can reply straight back to you.

Get started

Start on Pro+

$47/mo intro price, with a 7-day free trial. Today that's unlimited spins plus Zapier, Make.com and custom webhook automations on top of everything in Growth+ — and WhatsApp prize follow-ups are included the day they ship, at no extra cost.

Why it arrives fast

The code exists before the message sends

Generating a discount code at the moment somebody wins puts an API round-trip between the shopper and their prize, and a slow response reads as a stalled wheel. Profiter mints single-use codes ahead of demand instead, so a win claims one that already exists and applies it through the cart via Shopify Functions.

If a mint ever does fail, the wheel shows a "generating your code" bar and polls until it recovers rather than losing the win. The WhatsApp message then carries a code that already works.

Measurement

Knowing whether it was worth $47

Every plan, Free included, carries the same measurement stack, so you can judge the channel rather than assume it.

  • A holdout group that never sees the wheel, held steady by a deterministic FNV-1a hash so a visitor stays in the same arm across sessions
  • Profit per exposed visitor, worked out from your margin and shipping cost
  • A two-proportion z-test with a 95% Wald confidence interval, and a chi-square split check at alpha 0.001
  • No verdict called reliable until 1,000 exposed visitors have gone through it

Worth being precise: that holdout measures what the wheel added, not what WhatsApp added on its own. To size the channel itself, run it for a defined period and pause it for a comparable one, giving each window enough traffic to clear that same 1,000-visitor bar.

Questions

Good to know

How do I add WhatsApp prize notifications to my Shopify store?

Connect your own WhatsApp Business account to Profiter via the Meta Cloud API — it's part of the Pro+ plan. Shoppers who win a prize and consent to the follow-up automatically receive their coupon code on WhatsApp. No separate app or shared number is required.

Is the WhatsApp API integration free?

It is included in our Pro+ plan for $47/mo, covering the connection and automated sending from our app — there is no separate charge for it. Note that Meta may have its own fees for the WhatsApp Business API, which are separate from your Profiter subscription.

Do messages come from Profiter's number or my own?

Messages are always sent from your own store's WhatsApp Business account. This means they carry your brand name and profile, and customers can reply directly to you, not to a shared or third-party inbox.

Does Shopify send messages on WhatsApp?

Profiter enables your Shopify store to send messages, not Shopify itself. The integration uses your own WhatsApp Business account to send prize notifications to shoppers who win on your popup and explicitly opt in.
